Meritage is modeled after a traditional French Brasserie, paying homage to a century's old tradition. Yet, this is our take on it. Russell and I wanted to infuse the place with a little of ourselves, a little tradition, and a little something new.
Meritage - the name - captures this sentiment too. Meritage is a wine created using the grape varietals of Bordeaux, but produced in the United States. Therefore, it is American wine produced in the French tradition - this is a reflection of Russell's food as well.
Another take on a classic, we offer a cheese cart - as there is no greater comfort food to the Midwest than cheese and there is so much great cheese to showcase.
During the day, the restaurant is a casual gathering place that offers class, as well as good food and swift service for a reasonable price. At night, we offer the din of a bustling restaurant in an intimate setting.
